At the Respond Worship Retreat, you will find a selection of helpful workshops to instruct you in worship leading skills.

Below are the 2018 speakers and workshops.

  • Alex Cobb - Reaching All Generations in Worship

Unity in the church suffered as one of the casualties of the ‘Worship Wars’. In far too many churches, “us versus them” replaced “one body”. This session will focus on the critical importance of intergenerational worship and intergenerational church-life as a whole. Participants will receive encouragement, inspiration, and practical instruction for pursuing unity within an intergenerational context.

  • Jay St. Clair - The Primacy of Private Worship

Our "on stage" effectiveness will only be as powerful as our private prayer closet.  Jay's passion for the private devotional practices of Bible study, Scripture memorization and prayer will challenge you to take the next step in your own habits of spiritual formation.

  • Brian Jennings - Diversity in Worship

If your worship team and congregation are looking a little "monochromatic," then Brian will help you to isolate some potential reasons for this, as well as how your church can be more proactive at being more ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse.

  • Jose Heredia - Music MemorizATION

Jose has a passion to see worship teams lead their congregations more effectively.  Internalizing the message and music songs will enable a member of the worship team to engage with the church at a deeper level, as well as make them more flexible to leading of the Holy Spirit at a moment's notice.  This workshop will address the importance of, and give tips on music memorization.

  • Jason Curtis - Sound Tech Intensive [2 parts]

As the sound tech at last year's retreat, Jason proved to be a good balance of technical know-how paired with a servant heart.  In this two-part intensive, he will resource the sound techs on your team with the skills they need to serve your church and help the grow to the next level of worship sound production.

  • Jeremiah Jones - Transforming Conflict in worship ministry

Working with multiple creative people in one setting can cause an extreme amount of tension, allowing emotions to discourage unity. In this workshop, we will unpack the A.R.T. of conflict, a threefold strategy that will help us be better equipped when conflict arises in our ministries.
